Duty is Ours. Results are God's.
-John Quincy Adams
That’s been my mantra for a while now. I imagine you have your own inspirational quote, a person who motivates you, or a cause worth fighting for.
Election Day was busy at the polling place where I clerked. That’s awesome. People voting is an American freedom. It was fun to greet people and especially fun to meet the first-time voters. It was encouraging and enlightening to see how many young people were voting.
If you’ve read or listened to some of the ‘post-game’ analysis of the election, I hope you’re feeling positive. I am. Yes, the war goes on, but we won a big battle. Don’t stop now. There is no end in sight. As long as people want freedom, the fight will go on.
The bottom line is still that citizens must participate in the American freedoms and processes, or they will die a slow death. So when you vote, or serve on a jury, or belong to a group that is taking action, educating, encouraging, and supporting anything and everything that America stands for, you are part of the solution!
Thank you for all you do! God bless you, and God bless America!
Until next time…
Please share your thoughts in the comments. Or email me, and let’s have a problem-solving conversation. I welcome ‘letters to the editor’ type emails and may publish yours. I hope we can create a caucus with positive, back-to-the-founders’-dream-for-America results. Have a topic you want to know more about?
